Action Learning

I am a trained and experienced action learning facilitator and use action learning to improve work performance, to increase personal resilience and capability, and help find solutions to complex problems at work. Action learning groups are useful to help create and manage change in the work place environment.

Action learning sets are:

  • Generally small groups between 6–8 people
  • Generally small groups between 6–8 people
  • Have a facilitated and structured format
  • Frequently have 5–6 regularly spaced meetings
  • Peopled by those who wish to learn & develop their communication skills in a collaborative & participative way
  • About identifying thinking, feelings & actions to “take away” back to the workplace

Training and Development Consultancy

I offer a confidential and facilitative service to companies and local authorities to assist with skills programmes and group learning for workers and managers.

For example I have run themed group facilitation sessions for services where communication has broken down between teams. I have also helped support local authorities design and implement skills training in for example ‘supervision training’ for new and experienced managers and supervisors.

Mentoring

I am a qualified mentor and coach and have many years experience of mentoring, coaching and developing workers to pass professional qualifications, improve performance at work and cope better with stressful work environments. I have the experience and knowledge to supervise either newly qualified or senior practitioners in social work in either individual or group supervision. I am committed to improving the skills of all registered social workers and enjoys the achievement of improving services for the benefit of service users and their families.
